A Wintery Ornament Craft

What better way to welcome the winter season then to create a beautiful, nature-inspired craft? Today is winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, and the weather certainly showed it! A glistening blanket of snow covered the cold earth as we trekked through the woodlands. We lovingly adorned the bare trees with homemade birdseed ornaments for our furry friends, and we even built a little snowman along the trail!

Hanging our homemade birdseed ornaments from the trees!

Our most favorite memory from today, though (and also our newest tradition) was making beautiful wintery ornaments for our Christmas tree!

A Wintery Ornament Craft

1. First, you’ll need a clear, empty ornament ball. We ordered ours here.

2. Next, you’ll need to bundle up and head outdoors! Incorporate a seasonal nature walk into your festivities and enjoy the fresh air. ❄️

3. As you walk, pick up whatever calls to you that might be on the ground below, and place them into the top of your ornament. My girls loved gathering pine needles and mushrooms beneath the snow! ❤️

4. Cover your ornament with its cap (might have to put it in front of a fan once you get home for any wetness or condensation inside of the ornament). And there you have it! A beautiful seasonal ornament straight from the outdoors. What better memories could you possibly ever keep?! 🌲
