Nature Seek-And-Find: Hearts!

In lieu of Valentine’s Day this upcoming weekend, what better way to celebrate then a Valentine’s Day-inspired nature walk?! There are so many shapes to find outdoors, and hearts are surprisingly one of them! Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A nature journal, or a piece of paper
  • Markers or crayons; something to draw with
  • A camera for taking photos for memories!
We spy… a heart tree!

Begin your nature walk by setting a goal: find as many hearts as you can! They can be anywhere, and as abstract or concrete as you’d like.

Once a heart is found, feel free to either draw a picture of it on your piece of paper, or in your nature journal. My oldest always chooses to draw in her journal, whereas my youngest prefers just a loose piece of paper; either works! If your child is writing, perhaps have them label what they drew.

By the end of the walk, you may be surprised with how many hearts you’ve found! There are endless shapes in nature, aren’t there?

Be sure to take photos of your journey for sweet memories! 📸
